Fluor Communicators
Club Executive 2022/2023

Arobo Ako
President
Arobo started her journey with Toastmaster in February 2021. She migrated to Canada in 2019 and her search for becoming a better communicator in this new terrain endeared her to Toastmasters. At the time she was an employee at Fluor Canada, so Fluor Communicators was an easy pick for a Club but after meeting the members, she knew she was home.
Arobo currently serves the club as the Club President, a role she loves. She says,”I love to serve and make impact but preferably from the back where no one can see me.”
When she’s not toasting, she spends time with family, she enjoys the outdoors, volunteers at Made By Momma, and joins any initiatives for developing women and protecting children from abuse. She dreams of traveling to discover the world and she hopes that one day racism, gender based violence against women, and bullying will be extinct topics.

Marcy Field, DTM
Immediate Past President
Marcy started attending meetings at Fluor Communicators in March 2018. In July 2018, she accepted the role of co-VP Education with Lisa Branch. She served in that role for 2 years, the second time through partnering with Masoud Shahanaghi. In July 2019 she was appointed to the role of Public Relations Manager for Toastmasters District 42. She joined TM to improve her public speaking skills only to discover the organization offers much more.
Marcy is a motorcycle enthusiast (a former rider), a gardener, loves cooking and entertaining, great conversations, and hearing people's stories. She currently works as a social media marketing manager operating as a solopreneur assisting a select group of clients in building community. A social activist, she believes each of us is capable of creating positive change in our world.

Ruby Gunna, LD5, TC3
Immediate Past President
Ruby Gunna has been a member of Fluor Communicators since April 2019. She completed Level 4 in the Leadership Development Pathway in March 2020. Ruby served as the Club Secretary for Fluor Communicators in 2019/2020. She was awarded the Toastmaster of the Year 2019/2020 at the Club level.
Outside of the club, Ruby is a core-team member of the District 42 Tech Team. She served as the Area Director for F26 for 2020/2021. Ruby is also a new member of the High River Toastmasters Club. Ruby was thrilled to have re-started her Toastmasters journey with Fluor Communicators and looks forward to hearing others' stories.

Lisa Branch, DTM
Committee Member
Lisa joined Fluor Communicators in September 2014 and has enjoyed being actively involved in a variety of Toastmaster activities. Besides developing improved communication skills, she has grown as a leader by serving as a Club Officer in the roles of VP Membership, VP PR, VP Education (x2), and President (x2), and in District roles as Area D23 Director, YLP facilitator, and Club Mentor. Lisa has been recognized for Division Rookie of the Year (2015), 3rd place at District Evaluation Contest (2017), Division D Area Director of the Year (2018), and achieved the Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) award in 2018. What keeps her coming back to Fluor Communicators? Lisa loves to learn and share her experiences with others as they start their own Toastmasters journey to grow and gain confidence.
Outside Toastmasters, Lisa lives on an acreage in Millarville with her husband and three teens. She has a black belt in karate and teaches culinary nutrition. She loves board games, crochet and volunteering with the Operation Christmas Child shoebox program. Lisa's weakness? Caramel Latte!
